Mother's Day Bike Ride and Beach

We had a great Mother's Day at Wasa Lake where we completed our 2nd annual bike around the lake, followed by a beach picnic. Maya loves the double bike and Caleb is happy to do cruise on the run bike or rest in the bike trailer. He told Mike he wanted to be on the "boys team" with his dad! Ha!
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mother's Day Lunch - Asian Style

Maya and Caleb's preschool is currently learning all about Asia. For Mother's Day we were to dress up in costume for our Japanese lunch.  I was lucky to have an adult and child size kimono that were gifts from Japanese students that we hosted in Calgary back when I was in high school! I dug into some old boxes in the storage room and found some great outfits for Maya and I! Caleb got into the fun too but was more interested in chop sticks than dressing up at school.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maya Spring Dance Recital

Maya participated in ballet again this year and really enjoyed it. This year for her dance recital she danced to "Lady Bug Club".   The event started out with a crash - between Maya and another dancer backstage!! Blood, tears and a fat lip occurred moments before her performance. She was a trooper though and went through with her little performance - the show must go on after all!
